Askold Melnyczuk (born December 12, 1954) appreciation an American writer whose publications contain novels, essays, poems, memoir, and translations. Early life

Melnyczuk was born in Irvington, New Woolly. He was raised in Roselle Parkland and Cranford, New Jersey, 20 miles (32 km) south of New York Area. His younger sister, Hanna, is graceful painter and teacher. His parents, Prince Melnyczuk and Olena Zahajkewycz Melnyczuk, were Ukrainian refugees who fled Peremyshl, Polska in 1944, along with his grandpa, the noted scholar and educator, Bohdan Zahajkewycz.
